CORONAVIRUS & ENJOYING YOUR HOLIDAY
In response to Covid-19, we have put the following measures in place at La Rue Vaslin to help protect you and to keep you, our other guests, and those who work for us, safe. We understand how important a holiday is to you and we want you to feel confident and comfortable staying at La Rue Vaslin; so if you have any special requests please let us know and we will do all we can to accommodate your needs.
Before you arrive
If at any time within the 14 days prior to your arrival you, or anyone in your party, has experienced any symptoms of Covid-19 or has been exposed to anyone who has Covid-19, it is essential that you inform us immediately and that you seek medical advice regarding travelling. If you, or anyone in your party, has Covid-19 then we must treat your booking as cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel if we feel there is any risk to you or to others in staying at La Rue Vaslin.
Travelling to France
It is our strong recommendation that travel is via Eurotunnel. This is the safest method of travel with minimum (indeed it can be without any) contact with other people. It is also the most flexible way to travel, meaning if you have to return home earlier than expected you are able to change your crossing quickly. Travel time is five hours from Calais to La Rue Vaslin.
Arrival and departure times
In order to give our local team more time to sanitise and clean the property, and to ensure an eight hour gap between the last departure and your arrival, it is necessary for us to amend our arrival and departure times. Arrival is now strictly no earlier than 5pm and departure no later than 9am. We are happy to advise on places to visit or to stop en-route to help make the most of these times / days.
On your arrival your property will have been thoroughly cleaned and checked by our local team. This will include bleaching floors, work surfaces and bathroom areas, and a non-toxic anti-viral spraying to soft furnishings to ensure the highest levels of Covid-19 protection. All windows will be left open (unless it is raining or forecast to rain). Our local team wear necessary masks and gloves while undertaking cleaning / inspection. In the property we have installed:
Sanitising hand wash pump in the kitchen
Soap dispensers in the bathroom are filled with Carex 99.9% bacteria-killing soap
Sanitising hand wash pumps in the communal laundry room and games barn
In the bathroom and kitchen there are disposable household cleaning wipes
Access to a range of quality cleaning products
All our properties are equipped with dishwashers and we will provide enough dishwasher tablets for your stay
Your bed linen
Our bed linen is washed at 60 degrees with an anti-viral washing solution. Normally we make up the beds, but to minimise contact and to ensure linen is free of contamination we now provide full linen packs which are wrapped and provided for you to make up your bed(s). Your bed will be pre-prepared with freshly laundered mattress and pillow protectors. You can choose to bring your own bed linen. If bringing your own linen clean mattress and pillow protectors will be provided. Each pack contains:
7.5 tog duvet (anti-viral sprayed)
Bottom fitted sheet
Bath towel (one per person)
Hand towel (one per person)
The pool and gardens
Your property has its own private garden area and access. Maximum occupancy around the pool is now restricted to eight people at any time. This is to allow one metre between each set of two sun-loungers. Further sun-loungers are available for use in your private garden.
In the laundry room and games barn there are anti-bacterial sprays for use in wiping down sun-loungers and cushions before and after use, and spraying bike seats / handles and games equipment, again before and after use.
Shopping and going out
Some supermarkets, markets, petrol stations, and general shops still ask for you to wear masks, although for most this is voluntary. However, it is compulsory for public transport (including Eurotunnel) restaurants and cafes (entering only), doctors, hospitals and hairdressers. Masks must also be worn on entering and leaving all public places, including restaurants and cafes (although they can be taken off once seated).
What to do if you feel ill
If during your stay you feel ill and suspect you may have contracted Covid-19, please first contact the UK NHS helpline on 111 who will ascertain your risk. If you are in any doubt about having contracted Covid-19 it is essential that you inform us immediately and that you leave the property straight away to return home for self-isolation. It is not possible to self-isolate at La Rue Vaslin due to the fact that your property may be booked for the week following your departure. We are also unable to provide alternative accommodation; so acting quickly and responsibly is crucial.
