La Grange des Amis | When we purchased La Rue Vaslin, we weren't just buying a small and exclusive arrangement of gites, but also the potential to convert its imposing barn into the most amazing accommodation.

La Grange des Amis is just what we aim to provide - A Barn of Friends. A stunning two bedroom conversion project, it will invite guests to enjoy its stylish and spacious interior and relax in its private garden while sharing the very best of French living, with friends.

Situated on its own grounds within La Rue Vaslin, La Grange des Amis will feature two fabulous king size bedrooms, each with an en-suite shower room. Downstairs a large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge will have doors that open onto its private sun terrace that overlooks the beautiful countryside that adorns the area. A single bed and sofa bed make La Grange des Amis as inviting for seven people as it is for two couples.

Enjoying the shared facilities that are on offer at La Rue Vaslin (such as the 12 x 6m swimming pool) La Grange des Amis is scheduled to be finished and ready for guests in June 2009. The barn itself may look small, but the doors you see here are almost 12 feet high, which gives some idea of the scale of the building! The barn is situated above an intriguing network of caves, which were once mined for the tuffeau stone from which many of the traditional houses in the area are built. The caves later provided the ideal temperature and conditions to grow mushrooms, and today serve only as a fascinating feature that is common to the area.

In converting the barn, we are using the experience and skills of local artisans, who - with great pride in their heritage - are putting their labour of love and passion for conversions into this project.
