Chantepierre | The name Chantepierre translates to "Singing Stones", and it is here where peace and tranquility reigns within this glorious region of France.  A traditional French longere (a long house), this idyllic retreat is located within walking distance of a village shop and bar.  The bustling market town of Noyant is just 7km away, and the historic chateaux town of Saumur, on the banks of the River Loire, is a mere 30 minutes drive.  The many chateaux and vineyards for which the region is famed are all within easy reach, as are the regions most highly acclaimed golf courses and kayaking centres.  Back at ‘home’, Chantepierre’s magnificent garden with its own private pool, as well as the house itself, has plenty to offer for both a relaxing and entertaining holiday. Well furnished and equipped, Chantepierre offers spacious and flexible accommodation, comfortably accommodating 8 people with a sofa bed on the mezzanine floor sleeping a further 2 guests. (During off-peak periods, discounts may apply for smaller groups/couples)

Chantepierre is a traditional and beautifully presented French longere (a long house). Its large and spacious interior is complimented by the warmth and character of its original oak-beamed ceilings and tuffeau-stone walls.

A truly idyllic holiday retreat, Chantepierre is very private, with the house and garden being fully enclosed with hedging, trees, fencing and gates.

Set in a peaceful location, yet only 1km from a village with shop and small bar, its one-acre garden features wonderful shaded tree areas as well as an expanse of open lawns. Its 10 x 5m swimming pool (maximum depth 1.5m) has a safety alarm and decorative fencing for extra peace of mind.

Both inside and out, there is plenty to do, including indoor/outdoor table tennis. In the garden there are slides, swings, football net, basketball, and a 13' trampoline. And, accessed from external French windows or via the garage, is a small indoor games room which has a child’s snooker table, darts and an air hockey table.

Entering Chantepierre is from either the kitchen or utility/boot room stable doors.

Downstairs, the utility/boot room features a dishwasher, washing machine and a second/drinks fridge. Off the utility room is the well equipped kitchen. This features a gas hob and electric oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave oven, coffee maker, and toaster. There are plenty of cooking utensils and the kitchen is well stocked with both adult and child-friendly cutlery, crockery, and glasses.

The kitchen has a lovely pine table, and also features a traditional log burner, making Chantepierre as welcoming in the cooler months as it is in the summer.

And off a partitioned corridor in the kitchen is a large downstairs bathroom room with a double sink, bath, and shower cubicle, and a separate WC.

Leading from the kitchen is the fabulous living room with lounge and dining area. The heart of this lovely spacious home, it features a small ‘quiet’ reading area by the feature fireplace; a dining area that has a table capable of seating up to ten people; and the lounge area with deep sofas and chairs. There is a CD hi-fi system, UK satellite television, and DVD player, and a good collection of CDs, films, board games and books are available for your enjoyment.

Off the living room is the family/guest suite, which has doors opening onto the garden. The suite is well furnished with a king size bed, lounge/dressing area, and a separate en-suite shower room/toilet. From this room, a staircase takes you up to a private mezzanine floor which features a twin bedroom. There is also an extendable child’s bed in the master suite.

Back in the main part of the house, stairs from the living room lead up to the first floor where a galleried landing provides an additional lounge area with a sofa bed suitable for two extra guests. There are toys, a TV/Video unit and a Playstation available for guests' use. There is also broadband interconnect connection and a sofa and coffee table make this a useful work/study area too. Internet is wireless, and is free of charge to our guests.*

Off the mezzanine landing is a charming twin/triple bedroom. This has a ¾ door access due to the low beams, and features a double bed and a single bed.
A corridor from the mezzanine floor leads to the large master bedroom featuring a king size bed, and to the lovely country-style bathroom with feature claw-bath, French shower, wash basin and WC.

Chantepierre is very child-friendly, and stair gates, a high chair, and two travel cots are available. A baby changing facility is available in the downstairs bathroom.
